This Dream (of Consciousness)
------------------------------------------------------------
This dream runs deep and wide traversing diverse landscapes of timeless mind
Nourishing roots, springing shoots, bringing forth life force from the sand sublime.
Carving out cracks in the moon-lit meadows. Tracing out shapes not seen in the ghettos.
Keeping that water running clean gotta get us a jug with a cap and fill it up while they let us.
This dream of consciousness is taking me away
This dream of consciousness gets me through the day
The blood of the earth runs red in this dry riverbed making the most of deathless excrement.
Settling sediment is evident. Self-immolation imminent. Solo cremation: main event. Heaven-sent.
Gasoline streams between my eyebrows. Seeks the path least resistant straight down.
Pooling up in puddles at my feet, highly combustible. Mixing with the mud in the street, swirling and colorful.
This dream of consciousness is keeping me awake
This dream of consciousness.
Destiny awaits...
Light a spark. Feel the heat. Test of will. Make a speech.
Shut my mouth. Close your eyes. Be the change. Eulogize.
Flames rise quick and pain changes perspective.
Life lessons reflect a new directive
Wait! Put me out! I changed my mind, savor life.
Pain and strife don't circumscribe the full scope of activism.
Find a crack in the stack of megalithic boulders and shoulder the burden of a life worth living.
This dream of consciousness is wandering aimlessly
This dream of consciousness is washing me out to sea
Oh this dream

Dragonheart
-----------------------------------------
Little lizards scatter like shadows
in the flickering firelight.
Big spider weaves her web wider.
No one's going hungry tonight.
The king fishers sit in the banyan trees
and the ocean laughs with a casual breeze.
In the jungle it's time to be humble.
Move slow and watch where you step.
Mountain mamma gives the gift of Mana.
Drink deep and pay your respects.
The ancestors rest in the banyan trees
and they may let you join them if you say please.
At home in the heart of the island.
She knows my mind and I find my way.
I know I was brought here for a reason.
Maybe I'll figure it out someday.
Blue water. Sun's getting hotter.
Take a dip and sit in the shade.
Open up some coconuts and
take a sip. You got to stay hydrated.
Maybe write a song in the afternoon
You can sing along if you know the tune and it goes...
At home in the heart of the island.
She knows my mind and I find my way.
I know I was brought here for a reason.
I hope I can figure it out someday.
Maybe when my time has come and gone the truth will be revealed
Maybe if I close my eyes and ask my guides the scrolls will be unsealed
Maybe life is just a random chance of circumstance
A fractal dance of holograms expanding until the end of time
Maybe I should stop wondering why and just enjoy the ride.
Sun is setting. What am I forgetting?
Doesn't matter it's a beautiful scene.
Keep your eyes on the horizon
If you're lucky see a flash of green
This island gives me all I need.
The sun and the rain. The fruit and the seed.
At home in the heart of the island.
She knows my mind and I find my way.
I know I was brought here for a reason.
Maybe I'll figure it out someday.
I hope I can figure it out someday.
But if I never do, I guess that's okay.

Tire Fire

Tire Fire
---------------------------------------
Black smoke.
It's scratching at my throat.
Black smoke
I taste it when I choke on your
Black smoke
It's burning in my eyes. It's carving up my insides.
I see it in the air. It seems that you don't care.
But I'm talking to you 'cause I want you to think about what you're doing.
I'm talking to you 'cause I'm sick of the poison that you're spewing.
We all share the air we breathe. Think about your family.
'Cause we don't need no more black smoke.
Black smoke.
It's coming out your tail pipe
Black smoke
and I know you know it ain't right
Black smoke
It's coming from the factory. Offending my olfactory.
It smells like hell on earth. Don't you know what life is worth?
I'm talking to you 'cause I want you to think about how you're acting.
I'm talking to you 'cause there's other people you're impacting.
Take some responsibility and have a little sympathy.
'Cause we don't want no more black smoke
Black smoke
You think this is a joke?
Black smoke
No matter how you vote you get
Black smoke
It's clouding up my vision. You made the wrong decision.
It's filling up my lungs. The damage has been done.
But I'm talking to you 'cause it's not to late to change our direction.
I'm talking to you while I still have a voice to raise my objection.
We've got to stop burning all those tires and start putting out the fires
'cause we can't take no more
Yeah I'm talking to you but it feels like I'm getting no reaction.
I'm talking to you but it might be time for some direct action.
We've got to make the polluters pay if we want to see a brighter day.
It's time to take a stand.
The future's in our hands.
Stop buying what they sell.
Don't believe the lies they tell.
It's just a bunch of black smoke.

Square The Circle

Square The Circle
-------------------------------------------
Square yourself with the moon
Stare into the glowing eye of the goddess who watches over you
while you sleep
Observe the balance inherent in nature
The light and dark divinity
There is solace in shedding your anger
So light the spark and sin at ease
Shout your stark obscenities
and square yourself with the moon
The moon is rising
The tide is turning
It's time to meet the real you
It's time to see what you can do
Just square your self with the moon
Paying homage to those who came before
I am honored to be standing on your shoulders
The future is a book I haven't read
But if I could I'd skip right to the end
Square yourself with the moon

Cornerstone
------------------------------------------------------------
Sifting through a lifetime's worth of memories
From the day we met to the last words that you said to me
Trying to make sense of a senseless tragedy
Your life story was incomplete
You were always there for me when I needed you
The definition of a best friend; loyal and true
Now you're gone and I don't know what else I can do
but write a song and carry on
We started off as friends. Now I'm proud to call you brother
You're my chosen family. There will never be another one like you.
Your personality lights up the room.
Gregarious
Thank you for the live and love you shared with us
You taught me not to take myself too serious
I learned your lessons well
I hope that you can tell
You are the foundation of everything I am
You taught me to see like a child and be a better man
Without your support I don't know how I'm gonna stand up on my own
You're my cornerstone
But I'm still here standing defying all the odds
With this gaping hole inside defining what I've lost
The only explanation is that you are still a part of me
and always will be
We started off as friends. Now I'm proud to call you brother
You're my chosen family. There will never be another one like you.
Your personality lights up the room
Gregarious
The balance of our lives is so precarious
We love you and we'll always keep you near to us
Forever in our hearts
We'll never be apart
Gregarious
The power of your voice will surely carry us
Through the darkest nights when life is at it's scariest
It's ringing like a bell
In our hearts it always will

Sailing in Saline
----------------------------
Sailing in Saline
The sea is a part of me
My blood is salty
Like the ocean
My heart pumps tidal waves
Beating heavy
With emotion
Against these rocky caves
Sailing in Saline
The sea is a part of me
I dive deep into the blue
Return to the sacred womb
I rise to the surface to breathe
Experience rebirth as I breach
Sailing in Saline

Below The Brine
--------------------------------------
It all goes by so fast...
You can't try to hold on too tight
or the friction burns
leave psychic scars
like road maps
leading back
to origin story-telling.
More medicine
evolution
from my own
inner mystery.
Music
savors
open
ears
Our destinies are inextricably entwined.
We may bind our souls to this planet
only to find out more about
the Sameness
of all things
before becoming
necessarily
re-sequestered.
A wall(nut) falls from a mountain top.
Hulls break down into
medicinal poison
topical sporicide
Who's the true parasite?
Worms of the senses
or faculties of the skull?
Normalize relations
with your imagination.
Ours is a sacred sojourn
across a dessert landscape
Sliced banana sand dunes
and whipped cream clouds.
Cherry Red sun
stone in my eye.
Dodecahedonism Triangulation
Subliminated turf wars span archipelagos
Marinating deep in the wake of the Earth
Solipsism Cataclysm
Equidistant entanglements
permeate space time
reducing like fine wine
in a saucepan of stainless vision.
Rosicrucian mummies
resurrect timeless recipes
involving garlic-heart liquor-ish
intoxicants imbibed at high noon
Sun creeps down
and all I can do
is learn to see without sound.
Find what matters
and push it down
below the brine
Drown
produce back to LIFE.
Give rise to new empires of mind
against multi-moon backdrops
like CGI reality
Aspire
to inspire
and respire
in spite
of the weight
of the evidence
against you.
We co-navigate this matrix life
eternally drifting
seamlessly transitioning
between complexity
and brevity.
Wasting time is all we do
until time comes back
to haunt
the rusted-out wasteland barracks
overgrown
in long-forgotten hillsides
People of the Sun perish decisively
with no questioning of
moral deceptions
by lineage
or dynasty.
Life becomes most precious
Above all else
as the source-fire-center-of-being
is illuminated.
This giving tree completes me.
Single-handedly sweeping leaves
and needles of needless suffering
away from her moist brow
Furrowed
Fields fallow as holy ground.
Lay down your stones.
Let the dry riverbed reclaim what's owned.
Deep wellsprings of clarity exist
in sub-dermal caverns.
Labor intensive
Labor of love
Open wide the doors.
Honor becomes Vice. Tables turn
and we're taught to think thrice simultaneously
holding co-existing worlds
of various improbability
within psycho-celestial marble swirls
of“might-be?”
What questions can be posed,
facts undisclosed?
Provisions made for impending departure:
Fully-clothed. Pockets filled. Watches wound.
Spring-loaded baked potato underground
Watch me grow...
Exploring exploding quantum quandaries
keeps the mind's eye wandering, watering, wondering “What's next?”
Destiny manifests in various flesh-vests
complete with sword arms and word swarms
Disarming vacuous malcontents with vested self interests in hegemonic displacement.
Ritual debasement as a matter of faith went unseen
by the god-like-I above all else.
NoMansLand
becomes encrusted with wealth.
Tax exempt statues
of satanic entitlement
Behemoths
engorged on uterine blood and vitamins.
Snack religious.
Eat the fruit you've been provided cuz
The black and white is
all integrated
deep down inside of us.
I spiral out
on a luminous gray-scale cloud
shrouded
in halos
like moonbows
inventing new hues
between the shades
on my way
to Pluto
Sacred geometry
planes and spheres
form drum membranes
formed rememberings
resonating deep
pockets of life loose
from the many-fold manifold
(multiverse postulate)
Prognosis: Probable epigenetic genesis.
Last request: Filter out the meaningless.
Upload the polished product
to the Trollolosphere.
Find the others.
Unify
in defense of all that's dear.
Hold down the fort
until I can come back fortunate with support and we can unseat the crown jewel thief's
twelve ton megachurch
Gargantuan
Pivot point fulcrum
Power point presentation
Elimination of impassable obstacles
When a tree falls wordless
across a precipice,
Who hears the (h)owls?
